U RESIN QuickCast is an epoxy resin system suitable for small castings up to 50 grams weight. It is fast curing due to the exothermic heat generated by the system. It is suitable for encapsulating geological and metallurgical samples prior to polishing and microscopic analysis. The system is designed to contain minimal volatile components which is important in SEM analysis. When mixed with filler small components may be moulded. Typical fillers are talc and alumina trihydrate, the latter filler being suitable for the encapsulation of small electronic components.
Part A and Part B are both clear pourable liquids which are easily mixed and poured. Any entrained air is readily released.
MEASURING & MIXING:
U RESIN QuickCast is a 100:12 ratio by weight resin system. Measuring and mixing must be accurate to achieve the best results. The ratio cannot be changed as this will result in the resin not curing correctly and/or lower the physical properties. Decant your 12 parts of Hardener into your mixing vessel, then add your 100 parts of Resin and mix the two components thoroughly for 1-2 minutes. Ensure the sides and bottom of the mixing vessel is scraped and incorporated with the mix. Bubbles will occur during this process, however will begin to disperse once poured and aided with heat, later in the process. Do not over heat.
